Vision
In the beginning
was the Logos.
Why Logos Praktijk bears this name, and how its mission rests on two pillars: theory and practice.
“In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.”
— John 1:1
The name Logos Praktijk was chosen deliberately. The Logos refers to the Greek word λόγος from the Gospel of John (1:1–5, 10), where Christ is revealed as the Logos. He shows God’s heart for humanity: in the beginning was the Logos, and through the Logos the world came into being. In this Logos, God the Father loved the world and gave it salvation (John 3:16).
In addition, the Greek term Logos means number, word, reason, ratio, order, utterance and argument — but also the essence of the human being.
Logos Praktijk offers Christ-centred spiritual care for adults (18+) in the Zeeland region who are seeking God’s hopeful direction as they stand at the various crossroads of their lives.
The mission
The mission of Logos Praktijk is to connect, professionally and with compassion, people’s personal stories with God and His life-giving Logos, so that they may bear fruit in fullness.
Where God’s Word takes root amid the challenges of life, His power to overcome grows from within — and His restoration of spirit, soul and body.
Theory and practice
Two pillars
- I
Tailored psycho-pastoral counselling
Personal conversations for those seeking God’s hopeful direction — where basic church pastoral care falls short and regular care often leaves the spiritual dimension unnamed.
- II
Pastoral-theological teaching
Thematic material for local churches, to support and strengthen pastoral volunteers and to hand them practical tools for their ministry.
