An explanation of the work of Logos Praktijk — from first contact to evaluation, the methods along the way, and the sources that guide me in the conversation.

At Logos Praktijk I let myself be guided first of all by God’s Word — the Bible. Its principles find words in the balanced connection between Love and Truth: a conversation rooted in compassion that at the same time dares to keep asking after what is real.

Alongside this Biblical foundation, my way of working carries an affinity with maxims from the logotherapy of Viktor Frankl — the courage to say yes to life in all circumstances, the uniqueness of human freedom, the importance of conscious choices made from a real hierarchy of values. I also work deliberately with principles from the Centre for Pastoral Counselling (CPC): putting off the old and putting on the new — a movement necessary for spiritual growth.

Four movements

A journey in steps

  1. I

    First contact and intake

    An email or a phone call — your initiative. Together we plan an intake conversation; beforehand you receive an intake form and a sentence-completion test. In that first conversation we explore what you bring, how I work, and whether we begin a journey together.

  2. II

    A tailored journey

    As a rule, five conversations of an hour each. Your question is mapped out attentively; from the analysis of the dynamics we search — in the light of God’s Word — for answers.

  3. III

    Methods that serve

    Working with family systems (genogram), with imagery (constellations with Playmobil figures), and with activating assignments. I will deliberately challenge you to explore healthy tensions and to learn to listen for God’s Voice.

  4. IV

    Evaluation and completion

    After the journey we evaluate together. We consider whether the end has come — sometimes it has; sometimes room opens up for a next phase, a new question.

Practical

There is room for new clients.

Duration
A conversation lasts 60 minutes. Sessions beyond 60 minutes are billed pro rata.

Reimbursement
In many cases the conversations are not reimbursed by health insurance. If you have supplementary insurance or a Christian health insurer — check with your insurer. Sometimes a church deacony is willing to contribute. If the financial side is a barrier, we can discuss an arrangement.
Confidentiality
What is shared in the conversation stays in the conversation.
Cancellation
Conversations not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will be charged.
